Noe Valley Welcomes Billingsgate

The team behind Four Star Seafood recently opened up Billingsgate — a new specialty seafood market and cafe in Noe Valley. It’s a neighborhood meeting place for all things seafood and wine. Along with a raw bar that features miyagi oysters and mahogany clams, they have everything from lobster salad and clam ceviche to octopus carpaccio, served alongside olives and fingerling potatoes. You can even get a buttery brioche toast topped with smoked salmon or a crab salad. Find them at 24th and Vicksburg Street for the best taste of the sea.

Aussie Chicken Shop Comes to Noe Valley

Family-owned Australian chicken shop, Village Rotisserie, recently opened its doors in Noe Valley to locals and visitors hoping to get a taste of Aussie-style rotisserie chicken, sandwiches and prepared sides. Owner Priscislla Dosiou and brother Tom Glenwright grew up in Sydney, Australia and wanted to bring the old-school Aussie chicken shops they grew up with to their neighborhood. The menu has fried chicken, pulled chicken sandwiches served on a ciabatta roll with arugula and romesco sauce — but the highlight is of course, the rotisserie chicken. It’s salted, air chilled overnight, then spun over a dozen times on their rotisserie spit, resulting in one juicy, crispy and hearty bird. Each order comes with a choice of two sauces (peri peri and greek lemon mayo), with sides like duck fat roasted potatoes and broccoli salad to ensure your chicken experience is complete. Check them out in Noe Valley to get a taste of a classic Australian chicken shop.
