The team behind Michelin-starred Acquerello recently opened a more casual spinoff — Sorella (sister in Italian). The restaurant focuses on traditional Italian dishes made with contemporary cooking techniques and West Coast ingredients. Sorella showcases the smells and tastes of Italy with over 60 wine selections, fresh pastas, amaros and cicchetti — Venetian bar snacks like grilled octopus, anchovy toast and zucchini fritti. They even have fried pizzetta, so what more can one ask for? The menu also features larger entrees like swiss chard malfatti and lamb osso buco to keep you coming back for more. Check them out on Polk and Washington Street to see how many cicchetti’s you can handle.
