Pig out on a protein-heavy breakfast. Eggs can be scrambled, hard-boiled, or poached. You’ll have to skip the potatoes and bread, but adding jalapeños and a side of bacon will help buffer those losses.

Vegetarian Omelet

In addition to cheese, it’s filled with spinach, mushrooms, bell peppers, tomatoes, and broccoli, all of which are keto superstars because they are nutrient dense, fiber rich, and low in carbs. Onions are less keto-friendly but ok in small amounts.

Fresno State Sausage

Fresno is a farm town at its heart and thus the college has fantastic agriculture and livestock programs. Several foods are produced in conjunction with those programs including four types of sausage (chicken enchilada, spicy Italian, jalapeño jack cheese, and sweet maple) served here with your choice of eggs.

Yosemite Falls Cafe

It’s easy to fall for this diner which packs plates full of meat, seafood, and veggies. Axe the bun and trade fries for a salad, and you can even order one of the many juicy beef or turkey burgers.


Seared Ahi

This pan-seared ahi appetizer is served with a medley of vegetables and sliced avocado. Skip the ginger dipping sauce (which may have sugar) and request the Caliente Salsa under "Sauce Choice" instead.

Slow Smoked Tri-Tip

Smoked tri-tip steak will happily keep your appetite company as will sides like green salad, fresh steamed vegetables, and spicy green beans.

Choose wisely, and you can maintain ketosis while experiencing the poke craze, the biggest food trend to come out of Hawaii since shave ice.

Choose from two, three or five scoops of protein (shrimp, spicy tuna, salmon, chicken, scallops, or seared ahi tuna) to go over a bed of seaweed salad or mixed greens.
